Rare white penguin spotted on Galapagos

A picture of a rare white penguin has surfaced online. The white penguin was seen in the Galapagos National Park of Galapagos. Guide Jimmy Patino captured the rare bird and share its picture online. Jimmy filmed the penguin at the Punta Vicente Roca site on Isabela Island while he was giving a tour to tourists earlier this month and then he shared it on Facebook.

The park said that the rare penguin is the 1st recorded case of a penguin with leucism. Leucism is a genetic condition that leads to a reduction in melatonin in the body.
