According to Dhankhar, India is going to be the 3rd largest economy by the end of this decade
On Friday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar stated that the nation’s progress is invincible and that India is a shining star in the world economy, mostly because of agriculture and agri-based business. In September 2022, India became the 5th largest economy in the world.
Mr. Dhankhar gives the statement in his address to the 61st convocation of the “Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).”
“It is a tremendous accomplishment, and the agriculture industry played a significant role in India’s rise in the world,” he said.
Mr. Dhankhar continued by stating that the India of today is amazing. The rise of India is invincible. India is the most popular and powerful place for business and investment.
The vice president claimed that adding value to agricultural products can bring about an economic revolution and claimed that IARI has the capability and intelligence to do so. He also requested that the institute add a fresh perspective to agri-education, which should develop into the hub of entrepreneurship that produces innovative ideas and research.
“The country will continue to benefit from IARI’s innovations, high-caliber human resources, and technological advancements in the farm sector,” Mr. Dhankhar added.
The programme was attended by a number of dignitaries, including the Director General of ICAR, Mr. Himanshu Pathak, State Minister of Agriculture Kailash Choudhary, and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
According to IARI Director A.K. Singh, India’s Green Revolution continues to be essential to the livelihood security of the nation’s billions of citizens.
It is a source of great satisfaction that IARI has continued to flourish in its quest for excellence in research for raising farmers’ incomes through better crop varieties and technology, despite the global catastrophe brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic.
He claimed that IARI’s main mission to achieve sustainable development goals is science-led creativity in agricultural research, teaching, and extension. Approximately 402 students, of whom 14 were international, received their degrees after successfully completing their doctorate and master’s programs.
