Pranchal Srivastava: Shaping India’s Consumer Retail Renaissance

India is no longer just the world’s most populous nation; it is one of the fastest-growing consumer markets. A rising middle class and a generation of consumers discovering global brands on their own terms are rewriting the rules of retail. At this inflection point, the market needs leaders who have owned PCLs through uncertainty, built businesses across geographies, and advised global organisations through transformation. Pranchal Srivastava has done all three: across 60+ countries, 35+ sectors, and every stage of a consumer business lifecycle.

That foundation was not built in a straight line, it was forged through an unusual sequence of high-pressure assignments: building businesses across South Asia, leading expansion in Africa during the Ebola crisis, navigating volatile economies across the Middle East, and working across more than 35 sectors globally. As a consultant, he worked with Fortune 500 CEOs on post-pandemic demand recovery and scaled e-commerce businesses from the ground up to $400 million. His approach was always consistent – strategy at the top, sleeves rolled up at the bottom and always, the consumer at the centre.

This combination now sits at the heart of one of India’s most ambitious consumer retail mandates. As Chief Business Officer and Business Head at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL), part of the Aditya Birla Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates with revenues exceeding $60 billion, Pranchal leads a portfolio of globally recognised consumer brands including The Collective, Polo Ralph Lauren, Hackett London, Ted Baker, and Fred Perry across 50+ retail destinations and a 600-strong workforce. The mission is to build a consumer retail experience platform that genuinely meets the evolving Indian shopper and to do it profitably, at scale.

Before this role, he served as Senior Vice President in the Chairman’s Office of the Aditya Birla Group, leading strategic initiatives across consumer, fashion, retail, jewellery, and textiles businesses under the direct leadership of Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla.

An engineering gold medallist, Pranchal holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business and studied analytics-driven strategy at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a combination that defines his data-led, execution-focused leadership style. Beyond his operating role, he writes on consumer behaviour and retail market evolution, leads industry panels, and invests in early-stage consumer founders, contributing to the broader ecosystem he is helping to shape.

Multiple recognitions across his career, including the Accenture Catalyst Award, Accenture Inspiring Leader Recognition, Indian Achievers Award, and WBA 40 Under 40 India Leaders 2026 mark a consistent track record of impact. India’s consumer market is projected to become the world’s third largest within this decade. The consumer is ready. The market is moving. The next chapter of India’s consumer story will be written by leaders who put the consumer ahead of the category, execution ahead of theory, and long-term relevance ahead of short-term wins. And we are confident Pranchal Srivastava is one of those leaders- one market, one brand, one consumer at a time- the work is already well underway.
