Here’s an exclusive interview with Tanuj Lalchandani:
Please tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a Delhi-based astrologer with a global clientele. I started young under the guidance of my guru, Late Shri Subhash Chand Gupta Ji. I have learned a lot of things over time with self-study and practice. Apart from my work, I enjoy traveling.
What were the challenges that you faced initially and how did you overcome them?
Reaching a wider clientele was the initial challenge. My work has mostly grown with word of mouth. I believe good work is the best publicity you need. Since I started young, I was always conscious of the fact that my clients must take me seriously and as a professional.
What has been your most significant achievement?
My greatest achievement has been the temple that I built in Tonk, Rajasthan. I always dreamt of building a temple and I could realize that dream at the young age of 22.
How do you come up with new ideas?
We are surrounded by interesting ideas. I try to anticipate the needs of people and try to offer them what they need. Listening to your customers can give you some of the best ideas.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My guruji has been my biggest inspiration. He believed in me when times were adverse. His belief in me gives me strength.
What motivates you?
Success motivates me. I cannot stop after one milestone. I always look forward to “What next?” My desire for success keeps me motivated. Having the support of family also gives me strength.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I believe in waking up early. When you get up early, you ensure that everything happens on time. After the basic morning routine, I pray. Immediately after breakfast, I leave for work. I try to strike a balance between my work and personal life. Hence, I don’t work very late. I enjoy going for a walk in the evening and spending time with my family. I prefer to have an early dinner and sleep on time to get ready for the next day.
Who do you look toward for advice?
I believe everyone should look within themselves for guidance and advice.
How do you define success?
Success to me is not an endpoint. I don’t want to be complacent and satisfied. In one word, I would describe success as “limitless”.
What are your growth plans for the next 12 months?
It is the era of digitization. I wish to have a stronger electronic presence and reach an even wider audience. I also want to take out time for myself.
