Veteran Actor Dilip Kumar Died at the Age of 98

Veteran Hindi cinema actor Dilip Kumar has passed away. He had been suffering from respiratory problems since last month. Due to which he was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. This is where 98-year-old Dilip Kumar breathed his last. Dilip Sahab was accompanied by his wife and actress Saira Banu till his last breath. Saira was taking special care of Dilip Kumar and was also appealing to the fans to pray continuously.

The news of Dilip Kumar’s death has spread mourning in the film industry. Celebs are paying tribute to the actor by sharing social media posts. Let us tell you, Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital due to shortness of breath. At that point the fluid collected outside his lungs was successfully removed by the doctors and he was discharged from the hospital five days later.

Last year, Dilip Kumar lost his two younger brothers Aslam Khan (88) and Ehsan Khan (90) to the coronavirus. After which he did not even celebrate his birthday and wedding anniversary. However, Saira Banu had said that the news of the death of both the brothers was not given to Dilip Sahab.

Dilip Kumar has received eight Filmfare Awards. According to media reports, Dilip Kumar’s name is recorded in the Guinness World Records for winning the most awards. Dilip Kumar was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1991 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015. He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha from 2000 to 2006. He was also awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s best civilian honour, in 1998.
