The Minister of Home Affairs declared that the New “National Education Policy” is being accepted by all Indians
According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, unlike previous NEPs that sparked controversy due to ideological ties, the new “National Education Policy (NEP)” has been embraced by all, and the entire nation is working to execute it.
Speaking to graduating students at the Central University of Gujarat’s 4th convocation on Sunday, Mr. Shah stated that the NEP 2020 will aim to remove education from the purview of limited thinking.
Usually, there are ongoing debates about educational policies. There have already been two NEPs, and each one was dogged by controversy. Several commissions were also established between them to carry out educational changes, but they were constantly afflicted by disputes, according to Mr. Shah.
In reference to controversies, he stated that regrettably, we have a tradition of tying educational policy to ideology and moulding it to fit that ideology.
The education strategies brought in by Mr. Narendra Modi in 2022, however, were not the subject of any criticism or accusations. In a sense, the entire society has accepted it, and the entire nation is advancing with its implementation, he remarked.
According to him, the education strategy will free Indian education from the limitations of constrictive thinking and give students a voice from early life all the way through their schooling.
“The purpose of education is to develop the mental level of a person or student, and this program offers you the opportunity to do so.” According to him, the goal of the new educational strategy is to produce citizens who share both a sense of national and global pride.
Mr. Shah also urged graduating students to make at least one commitment to the nation’s celebration of the completion of a century of freedom, 25 years from now, as well as to their own contributions to it. According to him, the Modi administration has also worked to increase employment, and because of its startup strategy, this number will have increased from 724 in 2016–17 to over 70,000 in 2022.
He added that the number of patent applications increased from 3,000 in 2014 to 1.5 lakh in 2021–22 and that as many as 107 Indian start-ups had achieved unicorn status.
