A$AP Rocky arrested in connection with shooting

Los Angeles police have announced that rapper A$AP Rocky has been detained in connection with a shooting that occurred in November.
On his way back from a vacation with his girlfriend, Rihanna, the star was apprehended at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday.
The singer, whose true name is Rakim Mayers, was being investigated by police for his possible involvement in a non-fatal gunshot in Hollywood last year.
Shortly after his arrest, he was released on £550,000 (£421,000) bail.
The arrest was made in connection with an “argument between two acquaintances” that culminated in rounds being fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim later informed authorities that Mayers approached him on the street with a firearm while walking with two other people. According to police reports acquired by NBC News, they claimed Mayers shot him three to four times and that one of the rounds grazed his left hand.
The actor received a two-year suspended sentence in August 2019 for his role in a scuffle in Stockholm.
After an argument, the rapper and two members of his entourage were found guilty of kicking and assaulting a 19-year-old male. They claimed they acted in self-defence, but the judge disagreed.
After then-US President Donald Trump failed in his attempt to secure Mayer’s release from prison while awaiting trial, the matter gained international attention.
Mayers, who was born in New York, was one of the most successful breakout artists of the decade, with eight platinum singles in the United States, including Wild For The Night, every day, LSD, and A$AP Forever.
He gained prominence after Drake championed him, and he has collaborated with Alicia Keys, Lana Del Rey, Skepta, Selena Gomez, and Kendrick Lamar.
Last year, his connection with Rihanna, a millionaire musician and fashion tycoon, was confirmed. In an interview with GQ magazine last May, Mayers referred to Rihanna as the “love of my life” and “the One.”
In January, the couple revealed they were expecting a child. Rihanna revealed to Elle magazine in March that she was in her third trimester.
