Friday saw the release of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election platform for the 2017 Delhi Assembly elections. According to the party’s “Sankalp Patra,” reducing air and water pollution in the capital is its main priority.
According to Manoj Tiwari, leader of the Delhi BJP, the manifesto focuses on establishing an open, corruption-free government for the city-state. The Modi administration at the Center has made a point of doing this, according to Tiwari. “In the current government, half of the ministers and MLAs are either out on bail or being charged. We’ll alter this situation.”
He continued, “The BJP if elected to power, will create a Colony Development Board for regularising societies,” and stated that this will be the party’s main goal. Colony regularisation has resulted in a lot of verbal spats between the BJP and Delhi’s ruling AAP. The BJP accuses the Arvind Kejriwal-led party of stealing their plan, while the AAP claims credit for starting the initiative to regularise the colonies.
