Before their 20th season of Saturday Night Takeaway, Ant & Dec shockingly announced their departure, surprising their fans throughout the country.
The show, which has won numerous BAFTAs, will end after 2024, according to 47-year-old co-creators Declan Donnelly and Anthony McPartlin.
We enjoy producing “Saturday Night Takeaway,” but Ant indicated that after 20 seasons, it seemed like the right time to take a break and regroup.
Dec continued, ‘We still have a spectacular 20th series to look ahead to first, so we are going to do our very best to go out (for now) with a flourish in 2024!’
The duo will continue to work with ITV and host hit shows like Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebrity, and Limitless.
The show “Saturday Night Takeaway, created by “Mitre Studios” and “Lifted Entertainment, will release its 20th series next year.
Famous bits from the show include Undercover, the Happiest Minute of the Week, Get Out of My Ear, Win the Ads, and The End of Show.
With 6.4 million audiences and the largest entertainment viewership of any channel, the most current series debuted in February with ITV1’s best overnight audience of the year.
Since its debut in 2002, the format has won numerous “BAFTA” and “National Television Awards” thanks to its blend of live, high-energy, and feel-good entertainment.
The managing director of media and entertainment at ITV, Kevin Lygo, said, “You think of Saturday Night Takeaway when you think of Saturday night television.”
“Over the course of 20 seasons, the show has established itself as an international hit, and while we eagerly await what Ant & Dec have in store for the 2024 season, we fully comprehend their desire to slow down, take stock, and consider what the show’s next stage might resemble.”
Ant stated in a video that was uploaded on Twitter on Thursday night: “Hello everyone, we’ve got an announcement for you. The 20th season of ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ will air in 2024, and we have some really exciting new items planned.
