Exclusive interview with Dr. Sumit Banerjee

Dr. Sumit Banerjee receives the Global Pride Award 2021 for achievement in Health and Fitness. He has helped numerous of his clients achieve their fitness goals and provides free coaching to financially weak people to achieve their fitness goals. Here’s an exclusive interview with Dr. Sumit Banerjee:

Please tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a professional athlete who won Sr.Mr. India Overall Champions Title in 2017 and proudly represented Team India for the Asian Championship at Seoul, South Korea. Several times MR. Bengal Title Holder. Helped numerous clients to achieve their individual fitness goals. Associated with multiple National and International brands to represent them as their Official Sponsored Athlete & Brand Ambassador.

Featured in several National Publications, Electronic Media & various Social Media Platforms. Recently got awarded Honorary Doctorate in the Health & Fitness industry.

Have been doing a lot of charitable activities like providing free coaching to aspiring individuals who are financially weak to achieve their fitness goals, food & cloth distributions to different orphanages, old age homes, slums, feeding street dogs in several parts of the city from the last 7 years.

What were the challenges that you faced initially, and how did you overcome them?

When I started prepping for professional bodybuilding, I had no one to guide me.

So I started researching the internet, read different books and articles, followed a couple of famous Olympians, watched their preps, competitions, etc. I started applying different things and learned from my mistakes & experiences.

What has been your most significant achievement?

1. Wining the Sr. Mr. India Overall Champion’s Title.

2. Representing Team India for the Asian Championship at Seol, South Korea.

3. Awarded Honorary Doctorate in the Health & Fitness Industry.

How do you come up with new ideas?

I always go to the internet and research, follow a couple of big honchos from the industry, and try to visualize different things and develop new ideas.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Arnold Schwarzenegger & Jeremy Buendia.

What motivates you?

First of all, I’m a self-motivator. And following Sadhguru for the past couple of months. Already completed his sessions, which helped me keep myself always motivated and ready for any challenges to face and overcome.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I’m an early riser. My day typically starts with 1 hour of weight training session followed by 15 mins of cardio & 15 mins of core training. After that, I take my first meal, which is always a combination of protein shake & oats. Then I start my client’s PT sessions from 11:30am till 8:30 pm. In between, I take breaks to take my meals on time. I always make sure to consume my meals every day without fail.

After completing my sessions, I go back to my place, consume the rest of my meals, and spend some quality time with my wife and family.

Who do you look toward for advice?

Myself.

How do you define success?

For me, success is just that if you know how to live joyfully every day in every situation of your life.

What are your growth plans for the next 12 months?

Ready to accept everything that comes in front of me and experience it joyfully.
