Tweeting on Friday Trump confirmed that he will not attend his successor’s inauguration. He wrote, “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

Since Andrew Johnson, Trump will be the first incumbent president to not attend his successor’s inauguration.

With 12 days left in his term, Trump did not disclose how he will spend his final hours in the office. However, regardless of Trump’s plans, Joe Biden will be welcomed at noon.

Vice President Mike Pence who belongs to the Republican Party might attend the inauguration.

After the violence in the Capitol, Trump released a video from the White House condemning the act. He said, “A new administration will be inaugurated on Jan. 20.” This is for the first time when Trump admitted on camera that his presidency would soon end. However, in the video, he does not take the name of the President-elect Joe Biden.

He also added “My focus now turns to ensure a smooth, orderly, and seamless transition of power. This moment calls for healing and reconciliation.”

Speaking about the violence in Capitol House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California wrote, “Today, following the president’s dangerous and seditious acts, Republicans in Congress need to follow that example and call on Trump to depart his office — immediately.”

She also added, “If the president does not leave office imminently and willingly, the Congress will proceed with our action.”

The liberals are repeatedly demanding Trump’s resignation.
