Amazon India Customer Base From Tier 2, 3 Cities Jumps 2-Fold During Festive Season Sale

In the first 36 hours of its holiday sale, e-commerce company Amazon India reported a two-fold increase in its consumer base from tier 2 and tier 3 towns.

According to a representative for Amazon India, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities made up 75% of the e-commerce giant’s overall consumer base during its “Great Indian Festival” promotion.

“Tier 2 and tier 3 cities accounted for 75% of the clients. The representative stated that in comparison to the previous year, we saw twice as many customers from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

During the first 36 hours of its holiday season sale, Amazon claims to have recorded sales of 10 million unique products sold by small and medium-sized businesses and startups through its site.

According to the company, the number of new Prime members has increased 1.9 times since last year, and 68% of all new members are from tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

Amazon charges its Prime subscribers a subscription for premium services, but both paid and unpaid customers can sign up.

Customers preferred television brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Mi, LG, and Sony, according to Amazon.

During the current sale, the company’s Amazon Business division saw a gain in clients of 50%.

“Amazon Company had a 50% increase in customers, a 100% increase in orders, a 200% increase in sales, and a 2x increase in clients placing large orders for their corporate or business gifting requirements. The number of merchants receiving at least one business order increased by 23% from the previous year, according to the statement.

For Prime members, Amazon India has expanded its same-day delivery service to more than 50 important Indian cities and villages.

The number of cities and towns that now offer same-day delivery within hours has increased by 2.5 times compared to last year, the business claimed. These include Surat, Mysuru, Mangalore, Bhopal, Nashik, Nellore, Anantapur, Warangal, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Patna, among others.
