New Twitter Inc. CEO Elon Musk told his staff in an email that they must choose whether they want to continue and work at “high intensity for a long time” or face an ultimatum that comes after removing half of the social network. -media company workforce earlier this month.

Before the mass layoffs, Twitter had about 7,500 employees at the beginning of the year. The Journal reported that several of the company’s top executives had resigned recently, including Chief Information Security Officer Leigh Kissner and Head of Trust and Security Joel Roth. The company’s chief executive officer, chief financial officer, chief legal officer, and others were fired immediately after Mr. Musk bought the company and took it private.
