The Lunch Scheme For School Students In Puducherry Has Been Renewed After a Year

 PUDUCHERRY: Lunch for school students here has been renewed a year after their suspension due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Although schools have been operating for half a day from January 4, lunches have not been served.

The School of Education has been providing food and rice security grants to students instead of lunch since September 15. Now, as schools will be working full day from Wednesday, the lunch program has been revived.

Puducherry Lt. (Acting) Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and his advisers on Tuesday visited Government High School in Kalitheeralkuppam in rural Puducherry.

LG tested the school lunch program and tasted the food served to the students and asked them how it was. He found that the food was nutritious and satisfying. He also checked the cleanliness of the kitchen, its stock and its quality.

Under the lunch program, lunch is served to about 70,000 UT students.

Later, she took part in a Covid awareness program organized by the department of road health Beach Beach.
