The Price Of Platform Tickets Has Been Increased to ₹ 50 at Key Stations in Mumbai Metropolitan Area

Central Railway has recently increased the platform ticket price at some stations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) to avoid overcrowding next summer after the outbreak of COVID-19, an official said on Tuesday.

The platform’s ticket is  now  Rs 50 which previously was Rs 10 at  the key stations like: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Panvel, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan and Bhiwandi Road.

The new standard went into effect on March 1 and will remain in effect until June 15 this year, the official said.

Since the second week of February, there has been an increase in daily COVID-19 cases in Mumbai.

Mumbai has reported more than 3.25 percent of cases of COVID-19 than previous statistical cases and more than 11,400 deaths from the disease.
